Do you know someone aged 11–18 who is passionate about making a difference in Cornwall? The Cornwall Youth Council is inviting young people to stand in its upcoming election, offering a unique opportunity to:

How to Stand for Election
Young people interested in becoming candidates can register on the Youth Council – Let’s Talk Cornwall page. A full Candidate Pack is available online, providing guidance and details on the election process.

October

  • Candidate and school registration opens

November

  • Candidate registration continues

  • Registration closes on 23 November

December – Candidate Workshops

  • Wednesday 3 December – West: Kresen Kernow, Redruth

  • Thursday 4 December – Mid: New County Hall, Truro

  • Monday 8 December – East: Chy Trevail, Bodmin

  • Wednesday 10 December – Online session

January

  • Campaign promotion and goals shared anonymously

February

  • Voting takes place across education and youth settings (2 February – 27 February)

March

  • 9 March – Vote counting

  • 12 March – Results evening

  • 21 March – Elected Member Induction
