Christmas Waste & Recycling Collections in Cornwall 2025

Cornwall Council has announced changes to household waste, recycling, food waste and garden waste collections over the 2025 festive period. Residents are advised to check the revised schedule to ensure bins are presented on the correct day.

Christmas Collection Changes

During the Christmas and New Year period, some collections will be carried out on alternative days. The changes are as follows:

Normal collection due – When it will be collected

• Monday 22 December – Normal collection

• Tuesday 23 December – Normal collection

• Wednesday 24 December – Normal collection

• Thursday 25 December – Collected on Saturday 27 December

• Friday 26 December – Collected on Monday 29 December

• Monday 29 December – Collected on Tuesday 30 December

• Tuesday 30 December – Collected on Wednesday 31 December

• Wednesday 31 December – Collected on Thursday 1 January

• Thursday 1 January – Collected on Friday 2 January

• Friday 2 January – Collected on Saturday 3 January

• Monday 5 January – Collections return to normal

All other collections will take place as usual.

Household Waste and Recycling Centres

Household Waste and Recycling Centres will be open from 9am to 4pm throughout the festive period, with the exception of:

• Christmas Day

• Boxing Day

• New Year’s Day
